Food Bank Volunteering Round 2

July 15th, 2010 Five Element Ninja 3 comments

food-bank-7-10-10 Tonight 11 THR members did some volunteer work at the Capitol Area Food Bank, boxing frozen bread and pastries, paper and plastic goods, feminine hygiene products, and makeup. The event was a huge success with the team managing to box the goods faster than the staff could bring them out. Photos have been uploaded to the gallery. Big thanks to Terrell, AJ, Clinton, John, Kim, Jeshua, Chase, Jose, John, James, and Anthony A for coming out!

Expansion and CCM7

CCM7-124 We are pleased to announce that we now have chapters in Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio! We have appointed ccervantes as the Houston president, tehcodeman as the Dallas president, and Ainokea as the San Antonio president. Anyone interested in joining THR in those respective areas will need to speak with the corresponding president for information.

We now have a brand new forum set up, so if you haven’t registered yet, stop by and say hello. It can be found at forums.teamhighrev.com.

And finally, this past Saturday THR attended CupCake Meet 7 in Dallas. Hit up the gallery for photos from the event. Despite the heat and humidity, it was a great turnout.

CupCake Meet and Volunteer Work

food bank A lot has happened since the last update. We attented CupCake Meet 6 here in Austin at the end of January, which was a lot of fun. Team High Rev is proud to announce that we are an official sponsor of CupCake Meet, so be on the lookout for us at the meets. Last month we also did a team volunteering session at the Capitol Area Food Bank. We bagged nearly 400 lbs of Cheerios. It was so much fun that we are looking to do volunteering every other month.

This Saturday (3/6), THR will be attending the March Bear Creek Meet in Houston, so if any of you are going to be there, drop by our massive tent and say hello. You’ll know it when you see it. The team will also be attending numerous car shows in the coming months. We’ll have more details once we get more concrete information, but we’ll be attending Texas Heat Wave this year in San Antonio, Houston, and Austin.

In site news, I am currently in the process of completely revamping this website, though it will likely not be finished for several months. In the meantime I’ll continue updating the current site with photos and information as much as possible. Also, I have uploaded photos from CCM 6 and the food bank to the photos section. I have also added a video taken from CCM 6 that has a few cameos from THR members.

Ekora - Ride of the Month

Congratulations goes out to Ekora who was chosen as 8thCivic’s November Ride of the Month! He squashed the competition receiving half the total votes out of 5 finalists.

8thCivic.com November 2009 ROTM Winner

In site news, the photo gallery should be up and running (finally) sometime this weekend now that I’ve received a bunch of pictures from White Knight. Once that’s complete, the next step will be to set up the individual member profiles. If anyone has any team photos or individual car photos they’d like on the site, send them to Five Element Ninja ASAP.

Also, as most of you know, last night was the last meeting of the year, so if any of you still owe dues or any other fees, please get in touch with White Knight/Emily ASAP to get that resolved. We’re coming up on the next quarter, which means quarterly dues are doing to be due soon. We need everyone’s cooperation in getting fees paid on time. If we want to achieve our goal of hosting our own car show next year, we’re going to need money, and dues are our primary source of funds.

Quarterly Dues, Camping, Photo Shoot, Laser Tag, PayPal

Hey team, just wanted to summarize what was discussed at Friday’s meeting for those who missed it and for anyone else who is out of the loop.  First of all, this is the first month of quarterly dues (which are $20), so please try to have that in by Oct 20th.

As for the camping trip, the original date has been canceled since it would have been this coming weekend and we haven’t planned anything yet. However, if we still want to go, we need to decide a good date and anyone who is interested needs to put their money down ahead of time. Emily is willing to set it up if we want to do it. The main thing is we need to have the money ahead of time.

We will be having a team photo shoot Saturday October 17th at the old Serta building off Metric Blvd. at 7am sharp. PLEASE BE ON TIME to the shoot so we’ll have good light. There is a team meeting the Friday before the shoot during which John will be handing out maps to the shoot location for those who need it.

Also, we are planning on doing laser tag the evening after the photo shoot. The details haven’t been ironed out completely yet, but it’ll be at the Blazer Laser Tag on Ben White in Southwood Mall. It should be fun!

Since we had such a good time at the Bert’s BBQ/NTB car show, we’d like to do some more smaller, local shows. So if anyone knows of any nearby that are coming up, please let us all know so we can start planning.

And finally, I have added a PayPal donation button to the sidebar, so now anyone can donate any amount they’d like. Feel free to donate, and tell your friends and family!

Media Section Added

September 20th, 2009 Five Element Ninja 1 comment

This is just a quick update that I’ve added a new section to the site called Media, which contains two sections: Photos and Videos. The videos section currently has the video with us at Texas Heat Wave and the video of us at State Meet. The Photos section does not have anything in it yet, but probably within the next week or so I’ll be uploading all the pictures I have. I’m still trying to find the best way to organize the Photos and Videos section, so don’t be surprised if they change a lot in the next week. If anyone has any photos you’d like to add, please contact me before our next meeting so we can work out a way for you to get them to me. I might just try and set up the site so you can upload them yourself, if I can figure out how to set the permissions properly.

Next on the site agenda after getting all the photos processed and uploaded is to set up the individual member pages. I haven’t decided on a good format for the member pages yet, but what I’m thinking is each one will have 1 – 3 glamor shots of your car, member info such as name, car info, and mods list, then an album of photos of you and your car. If I can figure it out, I’ll set it up so you can update it yourself, but that probably won’t happen right away, so in the beginning I’ll probably have to do each of yours myself. I’ll let you all know when it’s time for that though.
